What is normalization?

Normalization improves the toughness of the steel.  It is an annealing process where the material is heated and left to cool naturally.  The recipe essentially toughens and hardens the steel providing increased tensile strength.  P335Gh pressure vessel is delivered in a normalized condition.

The En10028 standard specifically covers steels for use in steel vessels and boilers and grades vary dependent on the tensile and yield characteristics of the steel.  P355Gh offers a range of tensile drive from 510 to 630 Mpa dependent on thickness and yield drive range of 280 to 355 Mpa.

Steel of this type is regularly supplied with mill certification and stamping which makes the material full traceable.  further third-party inspection can also be arranged at a customer's request.  Examples include Hic testing, impact testing and non destructive tests such as magnetic particle inspection.
